Current GSGC Funded Activities 2014-2015

Radiative Heating Profile from Ground Level Through the Mid-Stratosphere

Funding is provided for High-altitude balloon flights which are able to produce accurate measurements of physical parameters suitable for atmospheric profile analysis. A consulting engineer will construct the electronic and software interfaces for data acquisition from the iMet-1 radiosonde to the Arduino Due microcontroller board. The engineer will assist in the design and installation of these devices on the balloon instrument platform and train a student research assistant in the digital and analog aspects of the electronics and software used.
